Morning Roundup: Caps look to close out the series, Redskins get Trent Williams

    • Livan Hernandez has another solid start but the Nationals fall back to .500 in a 0-2 loss to Colorado. [CBS] 
    • "Loose Bodies and inflammation" in Jason Marquis right elbow will keep him out for six weeks. [Nationals Journal]
    • With Marquis on the DL Luis Atilano, one of the organization's top minor league pitchers, will get the start against the Dodgers tonight.  Atilano will not have the help of Zimmerman due to what is being described as "something like a cramp" [CBS], but he also won't have to face Manny Ramirez.   •  Redskins
    • The Redskins surprise their entire fan base and make what appears to be an intelligent decision with the 4th overall pick selecting Trent Williams, offensive tackle out of Oklahoma.  [Redskins Insider]

    • At this hour Haynesworth is not on the trading block. Both Jeff Fisher [NBC] and Mike Shanahan [Redskins Insider] have weighed in.

  • Other News
    • Drew Brees has been picked by the fans [YAHOO] to be featured on the cover of Madden 11. Votes must have been flying in from Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Carolina.  Drew many need to check this link out before the season starts.
    • The NCAA worked out a new contract for the Men's Basketball Tournament. The good news is that between CBS and Turner every game will be broadcast nationally.  On the other hand they have decided to add 3 more teams without considering how they will be selected, where they will be seeded or who they will play.     • Tebow gets drafted 25th overall and while some are ecstatic [Denver Post] others are calling it the worst move in the draft. [CBS]
